Awarding winning rapper Byg Ben has never shied away from representing and relating with his roots, both lyrically and visually, ever since his breakthrough into the mainstream.
As the Mbale born rapper continues to energetically and lyrically reach out to tap into different audiences, his latest single ‘Wenzelesa’, which is off his forthcoming album ‘Let A Nigha Win’, paints a perfect picture of a rapper paying homage to a place and people that have significantly crafted him to uniquely represent hip-hop on several spectrum.
“Wenzelesa was first inspired in writing the night I won Hip-hop Artist of the Year at The Ugandan Music awards (TUMA). It being my first record where I rap only in my language, it got me deep to reflecting where I came from, how I live, where I studied my primary from to how I changed all that to who I wanna be or who I am. It being on my forthcoming album has helped realized how far I can go with my ‘ART’ and how to fuse my album,” the rapper says
